Bret Mitchell is a former Minor League Baseball pitcher drafted by the New York Mets (12th round, 2010) out of Minnesota State University–Mankato. He posted a career 3.25 ERA over 183 innings with 204 strikeouts during his MiLB tenure 

•   Known for a four-pitch arsenal (fastball low‑90s, curveball, slider, change‑up), he emphasizes tempo-based pitching strategy and early strike control 
•  Originally from Lakeville, Minnesota, Bret began his career at Iowa Central Community College before transferring to MSU where he earned First-Team All-Region honors with a 2.07 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 61 innings 
•  In the 2011 season with the Kingsport Mets (Appalachian League), he went 5–1 with a 2.95 ERA and 38 strikeouts over 39.2 innings, showing strong command with a .175 opponent average and 0.91 WHIP
